We have three designers on our team and offer a wonderful range of talents to utilize in new homes, remodeling or refurbishing. In addition to furniture, fabrics, lighting and accessories we also offer kitchen and bath design. Our Kitchen and Bath division creates extraordinarily beautiful kitchens, entertainment centers, libraries and baths, as well as custom fireplaces, doors and interior architectural elements. We provide the design and engineering for all your interior needs and work with clients from the initial concepts to the final installation.
We combine the best of a furniture store and an interior design office. Rather than being tucked away in an isolated office, our work is on display in our showroom enabling you to browse through our displays without pressure and also see the current design projects underway. McCoy Design Firm offers full professional design services. We work with you in all phases of construction, from planning how your home will sit on your property through to the final accessory placement.
We maintain an extensive library of design resources for your selections including fabrics, leather, trims, stone, tile, flooring, cabinetry, hardware, plumbing, wood and wall finishes. These resources help to expedite the design process as well as providing you with a focused environment for design development.
Each home we create is a reflection of the individual’s tastes, distinctive style and is uniquely theirs. We listen carefully and create environments specifically tailored for you. We take your emergent ideas and translate them into concrete solutions and more important, we always give a bit extra and actually care about you and your project.

Sarah McCoy, principal and interior designer for McCoy Design Firm, Inc. has over 18 years of experience in both residential and commercial design. Sarah has successfully owned and operated McCoy Design Firm since 1997, working with individual homeowners and contractors. In her years as a lead designer and project manager she has developed some of the premier properties in the Vail Valley - ranging from rental condominiums to 10,000+ square foot private residences as well as commercial showrooms. With her wealth of experience in creative interior design, project management and owner liaison services; she excels at making each project an individual model of value and style. Design management and marketing tenures further emphasize Sarah’s well rounded abilities to design and implement large intricate projects. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Louis University.
Chris McCoy, principal and design engineer for McCoy Design Firm, Inc. has been in the construction industry since 1972. His extensive experience has led him from construction management to Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer to Design Engineer. Chris’s 36 years of experience make him a pivotal part of his design teams and ensures that all details are accurately designed and implemented. When working with Thurston, Inc. he was involved in projects ranging from new construction to full remodels as well as commercial spaces. At Heartwood Custom Woodworks, Chris has directed projects located in Beaver Creek, East Vail, Vail, Diamond Star, Bachelor Gulch, and Aspen. Chris brings a level of creativity and professionalism to his projects that no one can rival. Chris holds an Associates Business degree from Santa Rosa College and is a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer.
